Fotini takes a holistic approach, teaching a dynamic style of yoga, incorporating all elements, focusing on the body/mind/breath connection. She discovered yoga in her early 20’s mainly Astanga. Finding that Astanga was heavily focused on physicality, she began to explore other yoga techniques such as breathing practices (pranayama), deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and meditation of the Triratna order.
In recent years, Fotini continues to explore the body/mind/breath connection through other movement modalities such as Tango, Contemporary Dance and other movement practices such as Fighting Monkey and Flying low.
Fotini’s viewpoint is traditional yet non-dogmatic with a depth of knowledge that is steeped in years of practice and study in the Astanga tradition and dance. Her determined yet mindful approach allows students to learn in a calm and safe environment without compromising progress.
Devoted to bringing the practice of yoga and meditation to all ages and communities, she also teaches at inner city London schools (www.yogowl.com) and offers community classes in inner city London.
Fotini is a certified adult yoga teacher (RYT200hrs) also specialising in children’s yoga (RCYT) and Yoga Nidra. She has completed Level 2 Award Course in counselling skills for working with Children (Access) accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and has completed Masters Education Psychology at the University of Cambridge to complement the work that she does with adults and children.
